Today
by: Caroline Hand //// November 17, 2020There is something special about today. There’s a newness. A fresh sparkle. A brightness. Why? Simply due to the fact that God made today and it is good. Despite the chaos in the world, there’s still this day, this moment to connect with God, to connect with yourself. Breathe in slowly, deeply. And let it go. Can you feel it now? The goodness in the air around you. The joy that creation sings of. The trees, the birds all have their heavenly melodies. And you do, too.
Let’s celebrate together the wild brightness of the day, the glorious riches all around us and inside of us. Christ with us. The hope of glory. There’s hope etched in each living thing. Can you see it? Can you find it? Sometimes it’s hidden, but always there. Every circumstance, God can redeem. Bring to mind one thing that doesn’t feel heavenly. And give it as a present to God. He meets us in those broken places and grieves and brings about life in his own creative timing.
Be patient, my friends. Take deep breaths. Enjoy the goodness around you. Celebrate the hope and redemption of all things.
Inspiration from these Bible verses:
Genesis 1:3-5 “And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light. God saw that the light was good and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light ‘day,’ and the darkness he called ‘night.’ And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.”
Psalm 19:1-6 “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words, no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth.”
Luke 19:40 “Jesus responded, ‘Listen to me. If my followers were silenced, the very stones would break forth with praises!’”
2 Corinthians 4:7 “We are like common clay jars that carry this glorious treasure within”
Colossians 1:27 “Living within you is the Christ who floods you with the expectation of glory! This mystery of Christ, embedded within us, becomes a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of glory for his people”
Romans 8:24 “Hope means that we must trust and wait for what is still unseen.”
